Fake Ghost ☠ Real Vampire

"Della" (above) in customary disguise, peddling her wares in a Muswell Hill bookshop.

How is this woman, calling herself "Della Farrant," an expert on vampires, much less an expert on the Highgate Vampire? She was born long after the entity had been exorcised, and has only ever promulgated the late David Farrant's hostile version. Farrant, in fact, did not believe in vampires, or much else in the supernatural realm. In truth, if one reverses what "Della Farrant" claims, examining records from well over half a century ago, it becomes clear that the "ghostly entity" about which she writes was the creation of Farrant. Those roped into colluding with him at the time subsequently attested that the "ghost" dreamt up by him in February 1970 was a fraud. We know the names of those who helped him in early 1970, writing fake letters to the local press on his behalf, or allowing their names and addresses to be used by him. He even went so far as to dress up as the "ghost."
