Obsession and Possession

Catherine Fearnley turns on everybody, whether she knows them or not. She definitely turned on her friend Barbara Green who won't even mention Fearnley by name for fear of the consequences. She even turned on the man she was and still is obsessed by, her mentor David Farrant. He ended up being arrested by police and having his computers seized because of her. Yet it was Farrant who originally triggered her unbridled malice against Bishop Seán Manchester who, unlike Green and Farrant, has never met, interacted or communicated with this seriously unstable individual. It was established that Fearnley carried out Farrant's most malicious and vile acts against the Bishop. When she turned on Farrant, conspiring to have him charged and potentially jailed, her hate campaign against the Bishop cooled for a while. Then, in 2019, Farrant died. This revived Fearnley's old obsession and she returned to being Farrant's emissary beyond the grave. Her vitriol for the Bishop has now reached new depths, and she sees herself, since Farrant's death, as someone from those dark days able and willing to wage old vendettas on Farrant's behalf. A sort of hate campaign by proxy. It fills every day of her life. Just one glance at her temporarily suspended Facebook account tells you that much. However, like trolls everywhere, she has numerous other accounts, some in her real name. Fearnley has made herself a self-styled witch/pagan again, just like in the bad old days before she joined both Protestant and Roman Catholic churches in the wake of her unhealthy Farrant association. Until the men in white coats knock on her door in Liversedge, West Yorkshire, she will continue as a crazy woman possessed by demons that never really went away.
